Terms of use
Effective 21 September 2026. Short on purpose. If anything here is unclear, ask us before relying on it.
1. What Keepwatch is — and is not
Keepwatch is an app that records video from your iPhone’s cameras, uploads it as it is recorded, keeps it in your account, and — when you ask it to, or when you stop answering — sends it with your location to people you have chosen. Keepwatch is not an emergency service. It does not contact police, medical or other authorities, and it must never be relied on instead of calling your local emergency number.
2. Using it
- You must be at least 16. You are responsible for recording lawfully where you are; laws on recording people and places differ.
- You may add only people who would reasonably agree to be contacted in your emergency. They must confirm before they can be alerted, and they can block Keepwatch at any time.
- Do not use Keepwatch to harass, stalk or surveil anyone, to send false alerts, or to upload content you have no right to record. We may suspend accounts that do.
3. Your content
Recordings are yours. You give us the permission needed to store, process, assemble and deliver them as the service describes, and nothing more. We do not claim ownership and we do not use recordings for any other purpose.
4. What we cannot promise
Keepwatch depends on your phone, its cameras, its battery, the mobile network, our servers and email and SMS carriers. Any of them can fail. We work hard to keep footage and alerts moving, and we show you honestly what has and has not arrived — but we cannot guarantee that a recording will be complete, that an upload will succeed, or that an alert will be delivered or read in time. Keepwatch is provided “as is”, without warranties, and to the extent the law allows our liability is limited to what you paid for the service in the last twelve months (currently nothing).
5. Accounts and ending
You can delete your account at any time in Settings; data is removed after a 7-day hold. We may close accounts that break section 2. Sections 3 to 6 survive.
6. Changes and law
We may update these terms; material changes are shown in the app before they apply. These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction]. Contact: support@keepwatch.online.
